The Vibrant & Elegant Blade

Chef’s Path opened up a new product line that was emerging in the Amazon marketplace; this was a premium Japanese chef’s knife, complete with a hammer finish blade, ideal for cutting fine vegetables as well as many other types of food.

Competitors were seen to sell the product in an elegant presentation which entailed a matte finish magnetic case within a velvet interior. Some sellers added a few bonuses.

After our discovery process, we had listed our main objectives. The first being to re-create their brand, with a Japanese twist, tailor made for this product line alone. This had to be done as their current brand was not inline with the essence of the product. Secondly we wanted to bring about a vibrant magenta/hot pink colour palette representative of the Japanese Sakura flower. This allowed the brand to really take a bold stance in their aesthetics in comparison to what was out there. Many of the brands were overtly masculine and too luxurious. Our aim was to enter the marketplace with an unorthodox aesthetic whilst maintaining elegance.
